PriceWhisper (“PriceWhisper,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by Fitts Company LLC, a Virginia limited liability company. We operate the PriceWhisper application and related services accessible at pricewhisper.ai (collectively, the “Service”).
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Service, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over your data.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Your name and email address when you create an account
- Your password, stored in encrypted form by our authentication provider. We never see your raw password.
- Payment information when you purchase an Explorer or Pro Annual plan. Payment data is processed directly by our payment processor and is not stored on our servers.
1.2 Voice and Query Data
The core function of PriceWhisper is to analyze prices you ask about, referred to as “Asks” (also known as price checks). When you use the voice feature:
- Your spoken words are transcribed locally on your device using your browser's built-in speech recognition (Web Speech API). No audio is sent to our servers or to any third-party transcription service.
- We do not store, transmit, or have access to raw audio recordings of your voice.
- Once your query is transcribed into text, the text of your Ask is sent to our AI analysis provider (see Section 3) for processing.
- We store the text of your Ask and the verdict returned (Great Deal, Fair, Slightly High, or Rip-Off) in your account history.
1.3 Text-to-Speech Data
If you are on a paid plan (Explorer or Pro Annual), the text of your analysis result may be sent to our text-to-speech provider to generate a spoken response. Free plan users receive spoken responses through the browser's built-in speech synthesis, which does not transmit data externally.
1.4 Usage Data
We automatically collect certain technical information when you use the Service:
- Device type, operating system, and browser
- IP address and approximate geographic location (country/city level)
- Pages visited, features used, and time spent in the app
- Error logs and performance data
We use an analytics provider (see Section 3) to collect and analyze this data. When you sign in, your user ID and email address are associated with your analytics profile to help us understand how users interact with the Service.
1.5 Information From Third Parties
If you sign up using a third-party authentication provider such as Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information (name and email) from that provider. We do not receive your password or payment details from third parties.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Process and respond to your Asks
- Store your Ask history so you can reference past results
- Process payments and manage your subscription tier
- Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, subscription receipts)
- Analyze app usage to improve performance and reliability
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data to serve third-party advertisements.
3. Third-Party Service Providers
To operate PriceWhisper, we share certain data with the following categories of third-party service providers who process it on our behalf. Each provider is bound by its own privacy policy and by data processing agreements where required by law.

4. Data Retention
- Account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
- Ask history is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete individual Asks from your history, those records are permanently removed from our database. However, aggregate usage counts (such as total number of Asks used in a billing cycle) are retained separately for billing and refund verification purposes.
- Voice query audio is never stored by PriceWhisper. Transcription occurs locally on your device.
- If you wish to have your account and all associated data removed, contact us through our Contact Us page. We will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes such as transaction records.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Passwords stored using industry-standard hashing
- Payment data handled exclusively by our payment processor with PCI-DSS compliance
- Database access controls using row-level security, ensuring users can only access their own data
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Deletion: request that we delete your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Portability: request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Objection: object to the processing of your data for certain purposes
- Withdrawal of consent: where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time

7. Cookies and Storage
PriceWhisper uses essential browser storage to maintain your login session and app state. Specifically:
- Authentication session managed by our authentication provider to keep you signed in
- Local storage we cache your preferences (such as home currency and display settings) and recent Ask history locally on your device for offline access and performance
We use PostHog for product analytics, which may set cookies to track sessions and page interactions. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.

8. Children's Privacy
PriceWhisper is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us through our Contact Us page, and we will delete it promptly.
9. International Data Transfers
PriceWhisper is operated from the United States. If you are accessing the Service from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States and potentially other countries where our third-party service providers operate.
If you are located in the EEA or the United Kingdom, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and the data processing agreements of our service providers to ensure adequate protection of your data in accordance with GDPR requirements.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will notify you by email or by displaying a notice in the app before the changes take effect.
Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
